The 5K is equipped with a built-in 500mAh battery. Manufacturer: VDL (http://www.gdvdl.com/)
The app allows you to check the current battery status and charging state. The Battery Log Graph displayed in the app shows usage time and consumption.
*The battery voltage display is for reference only.
Battery time may vary depending on the codec, sample rate, power, output mode, the sensitivity of the connected earphones/headphones, and the volume level.
When a PC or charger is connected via USB power, the 5K does not use battery power but instead directly uses USB power to operate the system. When used as a USB DAC, the device does not use the battery but relies on USB power, which helps preserve battery life, ensures a fixed charging time, and provides lower heat generation.
Some products from other manufacturers may use the battery even while charging, causing both charging and discharging to occur simultaneously. This can lead to overheating, a longer charge time, and reduced battery lifespan. Please keep this in mind.
Always remember that heat is the greatest enemy of LiPo batteries.
The hotter the battery, the shorter its lifespan. Do not place the battery in high-temperature environments. Specifically, when using the 5K with a car's Aux-In, do not leave it inside the car. When parked under the sun, the interior temperature can rise significantly, reaching nearly 120-160°F (49-71°C). This can not only shorten the battery lifespan but also expose it to a serious fire risk.
Rechargeable lithium polymer batteries can be hazardous if misused, leading to serious fire hazards, severe injuries, and property damage.
